NEWS

11 February 2009 - Monbulk Wildlife Shelter has been overloaded with heat-stressed animals after four consecutive days of 40C-plus temperatures in January. A lot came from the suburbs and is the worst ever seen.” The shelter and four other carers were stretched to the limit caring for about 100 animals, including birds, possums and wallabies.

Carol Seger at the Monbulk Wildlife Shelter has been rescuing and looking after orphaned wildlife for over 18 years. Some of the Animals that come into her shelter are echidnas, wallabies, gliders, possums, wombats, any kind of bird and even tortoises.

Whenever possible, Carol helps out other carers with extra things like pens, cages, heat pads and food.
